I am pretty excited about 2013. Looking back at the year passed by I am happy with my achievements. I think I had been a good developer, learnt few more skills to boost up my resume and in a way had planned what I shall be doing this year.

My New Year resolution was pretty much set up at the end of last year. I had a clear cut ideas about what I shall be doing this year. Here are my new year resolutions:

1) Set up my freelancing portfolio
I was working on my portfolio for almost the last quarter of 2012. I learnt few tips and tricks on ranking my website on google, made my website responsive, optimised it for decent loading speed.
This year I am hoping to land on few decent projects and create a reputation for myself and my website.

2) Learn More SEO
I am really into SEO these days and I do believe a proper website will get rewarded by google. I want to be more proficient in using social media and write more relevant and useful blogs.

3) Take CSS3 more seriously
The time has come to get more serious about CSS3 now. This doesn’t mean that I don’t use CSS3 that much. I had been more old school front end developer, but now looking at the stats of the user using IE7 and considering the release of IE10, its the time to use CSS3 more often.

4) Develop my own Responsive Framework
This is one of the thing I really want to do this year. I had been using Twitter Bootstrap and Skeleton and will continue to use it. I just love them and they are so easy to use.
But I really want to experiment creating my own framework as I think it will give me much more flexibilities in custom designed website.

5) Finally learn a PHP Framework
One of the hottest thing that will be coming out to PHP community will be Laravel 4. I have read so much about it and I am excited about it, and had been passionately waiting for its release. I can confirm that it will be releasing any time soon.

The main feature of it being the composer, which means it allows the framework to use the work done for any other framework for example Codeigniter.

These are my resolutions for this year. Short and specific so that I can achieve them at the end of the year. I am optimistic I will and will work for it.
